Intensive 3-Session Life Drawing with Laurel Goddard Thomas
About this Event
By request we will be offering two three-session blocks of Instructed Life Drawing in Fall and Spring designed to accelerate your drawing skills. All sessions will key into basic anatomy and building skill in drawing a three-dimensional figure on a two-dimensional surface including dry media techniques and using light and shadow. The block of three classes will also introduce you to how to draw hands, feet and heads. Students should bring paper, pencil and charcoal. Easels, tables and chairs are available.
These 3-session blocks are offered at a discount over single session classes but are not interchangeable or transferrable to single session classes.
Instructor Laurel Goddard Thomas has been drawing and painting human figures since high school. She is a graduate of the School of Fine Art at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and has spent her career working as a costume designer for stage, screen and television in Los Angeles. In recent years, her figurative art has become a more important part of her art practice, and she now works regularly with local and international models thanks to Zoom.
Her figurative work has been exhibited and collected internationally as well as all across the U.S. and Canada. She has taught life drawing at several local venues and is looking forward to helping Artist Council members learn to "see" and draw the figure.
