About this Event
Integral Flow is a holistic dance practice that embraces a “whole person” approach to movement. Each session is a journey through the terrain of the body, heart, mind, and spirit. The practice opens with embodied rituals, infused with heart-centric gesture and intention, and then progresses to core movement essentials that explore healthy alignment, core strength, spinal fluidity, somatic awareness, and focused breath practices. On the dance floor we experience gratitude and humility, moving like water, embracing both subtlety and intensity with our movement expressions.
The Integral Flow series (based on Integral Dance) focuses on keeping a constant movement flow throughout class to access deeper layers of physicality, creativity, and release. Sequences are interspersed with guided improvisation and freestyle. Inspiration is drawn from various world dance traditions, contemporary dance, and the movement of circles, spirals, and cycles that we find within the physical, energetic, and universal body. This practice is open to all levels of experience and ability, with modifications always welcomed!
This class will take place in-person at The Alembic and will also be streamed on Zoom for remote attendees. There is ample parking at the Alembic, and doors will lock at 10:30am so please arrive on time.
$65 for original series (May - June 4)
$20 for drop-in class
Additional class added on June 11! Drop-in tickets available.
Integral Flow classes will be on pause for the summer after June 11
