A one day Intaglio Printing Workshop. All materials and tutoring provided by experienced printmakers Al and Linda from Cuckoo Farm Print Workshops.
You will learn about two Intaglio techniques. This is where incisions/scratches are made on ‘plates’, inked, then printed onto moist paper using high pressure which, in this venue, will be provided by a pasta machine! The size of the prints will be 9 x 18cm
Plate #1 Tetrapak. The inside of a taterapak carton can be scored or cut away with a scalpel. The groove and fluffy interior will take up ink.
Their is wiped clean and a print is taken through the pasta machine.
There is a lot of scope for creativity, in the image and the inking.
Many colours can be used. We encourage innovation and serendipity.
Plate #2 Drypoint You will scratch a groove, or crosshatch into a thin plastic sheet. The marks you make will take up the ink. Ink up, clean off and print. Again be creative. Anything goes!
Bring your (simple) drawings and ideas and try it out. You will take home many small postcard size prints.
