About this Event

Our Seated Exercise Instructor Training is designed for anyone who wants to help older people move more, feel better and stay independent for longer.

Whether you’re a volunteer, work in local authority, health or social care, or simply want to give back, this practical, supportive course will give you the skills and confidence to deliver safe, enjoyable chair-based exercise sessions.

You’ll learn how to plan and lead engaging sessions that improve strength, balance and wellbeing, while adapting activities for people with sensory, physical or cognitive impairments.

The training is hands-on, friendly and focused on real-life delivery – perfect for community settings, care homes or one-to-one support.

The course covers:

  • Why physical activity is so important for older people
  • How to plan sessions and carry out simple risk assessments
  • Communicating confidently with people with a range of needs
  • A wide range of practical seated exercises, including TheraBand, pelvic floor and balance work
  • Evaluating sessions and basic record keeping
  • A practical assessment to build confidence and competence

Through a mix of learning and hands-on practice, you’ll build the skills and confidence to lead engaging sessions in community settings, care homes or one-to-one. Each participant receives a comprehensive training pack and a certificate on completion.

Perfect if you’re looking to upskill, volunteer, or add a valuable qualification to your work.
