Hope is not a frivolous thing in these unprecedented times. It is necessary to hope in order to see a way forward.
Thinking that I didn't have much of a skill-set to contribute to political organizing or public speaking or anything that seemed important, I asked myself, well, what CAN I do to help? I'm good at programming concerts. So, that's what I did. And wonderfully, surprisingly, I put this idea out into the world and found others who were also looking for some way to help. Thus, this recital.
This recital features two world premieres by Rachel Singh and Karen Goldfeder, compositions by Charity Lofthouse-Cricco, Melissa Dunphy, Jason Robert Brown, Errollyn Wallen, Florence Price, Antonin Dvorak, Ricky Ian Gordon, and Richard Strauss.
I will be collaborating with Brock Tjosvold on piano and the choir of UURoc First Universalist Church.
