Create a coherent professional development culture with common language and expectations, centered around high-leverage teaching techniques supported by rich video examples.
Teach Like a Champion team will showcase teaching techniques related to Engaging Academics and Building Strong Classroom Culture. To ensure these techniques then make a difference in the classroom, we’ll explore how to empower coaches to engage in high quality instructional coaching focused on the use of pragmatic techniques, video models, and practice activities to guide teachers to more effectively improve.
Josh Goodrich and the Steplab team will share how TLAC techniques can be effectively embedded into teaching practice through impactful professional development. Sessions will explore the power of high quality feedback, modelling, and rehearsal alongside high quality instructional coaching. The Steplab team will also model and deconstruct expert coaching conversations so you can get ‘under the hood’ of high impact instructional coaching.
This workshop is a train-the-trainer model, which means we prepare school leaders and coaches to deliver training on Teach Like a Champion techniques back at their schools and utilise high-impact professional development through instructional coaching to support teacher development. Schools typically send a team of leaders and coaches in order to have several key team members responsible for continuing the work back at their schools.
