About this Event

THE EVENT WILL:

  • Inspire young people to make informed decisions about their future subject selection and how subjects relate to the workplace and ‘real’ roles within business
  • Provide an insight into the world of work, enabling young people to engage with local employers through industry related tasks, hands on interactive activities that simulate real roles. This could be in the form of props, games, quizzes, interactive displays and general 'have-a-go activities'.
  • Engaging young people in activities that will help them understand the skills and qualities needed for particular roles
  • Inform young people and teachers of roles, technologies and local innovation they didn’t know about, discovering potential new interests.
  • Enable employers to provide activities and show innovation that demystify certain sectors and roles

ALL exhibitors will be putting on engagement activities.

WHO CAN ATTEND THE EVENT?

This year’s event will be available for students in Years 7 – 13 from Black Country Schools and Colleges. We want to make it as easy as possible for schools and colleges to attend and based on last year’s event activities, we realise that the younger year groups would massively benefit from attending.

SEND students are welcome at the event. We aim to make the day as inclusive as possible.

TIMINGS / HOW THE EVENT WILL WORK

Each school/college will have a 90-minute time slot to attend the event, at present one slot is available per school. You will arrive just before your time slot and leave at the end of that designated time slot; timings are listed below. More spaces may open up, we will keep you informed.

TIME SLOTS:

• 09:00 – 10:45 (longer session)

• 11:00 – 12:30

• 13:00 – 15:15 (longer session)

Current slots allow for 15 students to attend from each school/college. Please get in touch if you want to register a larger group of students. Schools are expected to make their own transport arrangements.
