Amelia Blair Smith 6:40pm

Bios:

Amelia Blair-Smith
Amelia Blair-Smith grew up in the Chicago suburbs before moving to Bushwick in 2022. Her style is sentimental yet precise, sweet yet grotesque. Her poetry is inspired by the Tumblr tag #hell is a teenage girl, vintage nightgowns, and billboard copy overlooking a lonesome highway. In 2024, Amelia released her first chapbook, Food Pantry Millionaires, as a love letter to the summer she spent living in a domestic violence shelter. Recently, she has been published in The Poetry Society of New York’s Milk Press and Hot People Read Poetry. Amelia hosts the Freeform Open Mic at Third Space in East Williamsburg and is a founding member of the Lambs Club Poetry Salon.

Emma Speer
Emma Speer is a poet, writer, performer, educator, and radio host based in Brooklyn. After graduating from Yale where she studied physics, psychology, and philosophy, Emma went on to write, perform and produce three one-woman shows, two award-winning films, and two children's books. She explores themes of love, lust, and life in her "Orange Poems", radio show Emuse, and her Museletter, which you can check out on her Substack or Instagram (@atmospeere for both). She is particularly turned on by the interplay of humanity, humility, and humor (and is also just generally turned on).

Jenny Rivera
Jenny Rivera is a poet born and raised in heart of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Poetry was introduced by her third grade English teacher, who who didn’t realize that he changed her entire existence just by showing her the voice she had never heard before. She began performing her words in 2019, making her debut at the famed Nuyorican Poets Cafe. She has since performed at poetry me, please, Voices in Power, Women, Wine & Words, The Rose Garden Events, and many others.

His work focuses on geopolitical issues, as well as domestic matters. He uses his talent to bring light to important issues, social, political, and cultural. He often uses humor and absurdity to add an element to his work, and also blends melody. He also produces music, and traverses between writing poetry and rap music. He released a spoken work poetry album title Spoken Words, where he blends all his disparate influences into a singular work of art.
