Bio:
Rebbekah Vega-Romero (she/her/ella) is an Afro-Latina-Jewish actor/singer/writer, who resides in her native NYC with her cat. Rebbekah is a graduate of LaGuardia (FAME) High School and Boston University, YoungArts award-winner, & 2023 Doreen Montalvo Scholarship honoree. Performance: Magnolia/Show/Boat: A River/Target Margin (UPCOMING); Luisa/The Fantasticks/Cape Playhouse; Martha Cratchit/A Christmas Carol/Denver Center; Maria/West Side Story/5th Avenue; Rini/The Moss Maidens/SheNYC Arts festival; Maria/The Zionists/Workshop/Dramaturg; plus countless other productions, readings & workshops. Writing: Rebbekah’s play, Smalls & Talls: A Duet for Two Women, is a 2024 Finalist for the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. 2024 BMI Bookwriting Workshop member. 2024 & 2023 Candela Fellow at the Dramatists Guild Foundation, and founding member of the DIEZ collective. Wrote, starred in, & produced the short film “The Question,” (Official Selection: Chain Festival, Katra LatinX Film Festival, Los Angeles Asian Film Awards, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles). Librettist with the Untitled Writer’s Group; produced playwright with Playground-NY. Poet featured by Sixfold & Ars.Poetica, and founder of Lace/Love/Letters, a customized art gift-shop.
