About this Event
Join our sponsored firewalk to raise vital funds to support our vital emotional, therapeutic and advocacy support services for local women and girls impacted by sexual violence and abuse.
This year we want to acknowledge the inspiration women in our lives whilst we walk – either with their name or with photo on our t-shirts, or maybe by dressing up as them. At CRCC, the survivors we work alongside inspire us every day, as do our mothers, grandmothers, friends and those women around the world who have fought for equality, equity and freedom throughout the generations.
For more than 40 years, CRCC has been committed to ensuring no woman or girl subjected to sexual violence has to cope alone. Your support will help us to keep delivering our life-changing, life-saving services in the face of significant increases in need and demand, ensuring we will be here for survivors now, and in the future.
How does it work?
You will walk barefoot across 20ft of burning embers to raise vital funds to support our work with local survivors of sexual violence.
Our firewalk is run by the extremely experienced team at Blaze - they are firewalking experts and this is the fifth firewalk they have run for us, all of which were fabulous fundraising events.
Thanks to the wonderful people at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, this year the firewalk will be held at The Cass Centre in Cambridge, providing a beautiful and inspirational venue to transform your fears into action, increase your self-confidence and raise much needed funds for local survivors.
No previous experience or minimum fitness is required and you will receive comprehensive training before the walk and then the firewalk begins.
We also welcome the friends and families of participants to come and cheer them on! The Cass Centre will be open as usual, so supporters are very welcome to make use of the bar area (no alcohol for participants until after though!) before watching the walk.
You can find out more about what happens at the firewalk on our website.
