Beards, mustaches, and other forms of facial hair vary widely, depending on cultures and time periods in history. From the Handlebar that was seen frequently from the late 1800s to the 1920s to the Pencil that was sported from the 1920s to the 1960s, facial hair has changed from one decade to the next. In her presentation, Registrar Catherine Page-Vanore explores styles of facial hair through the years and the ways people have embraced them. A tour of the exhibit Fantastic Facial Hair will be offered. Admission is $3 or $1 for members. Reservations are required by November 4. Insights in History is sponsored by THK Law, LLP.
