Inside Track: The Working Musician with Michael Pittman from Stovetop Gemini ====================
The Inside Track is a Q&A series designed to give aspiring performers direct access to the real experiences of working musicians. Each session features a professional artist who is actively building their career in the Denver music scene and has a connection to Performance High.
Rather than a polished “success story,” these conversations explore the real pathways musicians take: the challenges, pivots, creative processes, and hard-won wins that shape a life in music.
Our goal is for Performance High clients to hear firsthand how these artists navigate the industry, build sustainable careers, and continue growing as performers.
Participants will gain insight into the practical realities of pursuing music professionally — from artistic development and collaboration to resilience, networking, and opportunity-building. By hearing these journeys in a candid, conversational setting, students and emerging artists can gather ideas, perspective, and inspiration as they begin crafting their own paths.
Each session will include a one-hour conversation moderated by PH Faculty and Q&A with the featured artist, followed by an optional half-hour social hang for informal networking and connection.
About Our Guest: Michael Pittman
====================
Michael Pittman is co-founder, lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and manager for Stovetop Gemini, a high-energy band based in Denver, Colorado, known for an electrifying blend of blues, alternative, psych, and hard rock. Formed in 2024, the band has gained praise for their dynamic sound and sweat-heavy live shows, earning praise for their raw intensity and sonic creativity. Drawing on a mix of heavy grooves, intricate guitar work, and soaring vocals, Stovetop Gemini has become a rising force in the Denver music scene, captivating audiences and leaving a lasting impression wherever they perform.
Stovetop Gemini has built momentum through sweat-heavy live shows and the release of numerous original songs, including their debut EP, Karyo. Through the collaboration of all four band members, a shared love of music, and a relentless hustle to make their mark, Stovetop Gemini is carving a path through the underground with a sound that hits hard but stays weird.
Michael will join us to discuss his path through corporate America to pursue his dream of being a pro musician, the alchemy needed to find the precise mix of bandmates with a shared vision, and the unyielding grind to hunt down - and be ready for - bigger and better opportunities.
