About this Event

What happens when the thing you’ve spent years becoming is no longer the thing that defines you?

Affirmations for Black Men and Black Men Heal are coming together again for Inside the Healing Room, a live, intimate conversation centered on identity, purpose, transition, and healing.

This installment brings former professional football players into the conversation to explore what happens when the jersey comes off and the next chapter begins.

For many men, identity can become deeply connected to career, achievement, status, performance, or the role they have spent years perfecting. But what happens when that career changes, ends, or no longer feels aligned with who you are becoming?

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The emotional transition from professional sports into life after the game
  • Separating your identity from your career, title, or accomplishments
  • The pressure Black men can feel to constantly perform, achieve, and prove themselves
  • Grieving the loss of an old version of yourself
  • Finding purpose when your original plan changes
  • Mental health, vulnerability, relationships, and support during major transitions
  • Building confidence and identity beyond what you do for a living
  • Creating a new definition of success for the next chapter

While professional football is the backdrop for this conversation, this event is about much more than sports.

It is for the man navigating a career change.

The man starting over.

The man questioning who he is without the title.

The man learning that his worth was never limited to his productivity, accomplishments, or ability to perform.

Join us for an honest conversation about what it means to evolve, heal, and discover who you are beyond what you do.
