After a much-needed pause to recharge from a whirlwind 2025…
We’re kicking off the year with our FIRST EVENT — and it’s happening INSIDE MADPOETIX STUDIOS! ✨

And we are absolutely thrilled to welcome the phenomenal Jamaican-born, Toronto-based artist:
HAPPIE MICHA EDWARDS! 🎤🔥

This event also marks our very first co-presentation with the incredible Massimadi Foundation — a Montreal staple uplifting Afro-LGBTQ+ artists and hosting an annual film and arts festival! 🎬🏳️‍🌈

→ A live interview between our artistic director Kym Dominique-Ferguson and our guest 🎙️
→ Then — Open Mic Artists take over to light up the rest of the night!

🌟 MEET OUR HEADLINER: HAPPIE MICHA EDWARDS
A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, bruk-out storyteller, and proud Jamaican-Canadian creative, Happie Micha (he/they/happie) weaves together art, spirituality, food, and liberation. An Ontario Community Changemaker alum and member of the Fellowship of the Griots, he believes wholesome food is a birthright — and the stage is a space for truth. 🍃✊🏾

The energy doesn’t stop there — 8 Open Mic slots are up for grabs, exclusively reserved for Black and Brown / BIPOC artists this month!

Artiste multidisciplinaire autodidacte, conteur·euse bruk-out et fils·fille de la Jamaïque installé·e à Toronto, Happie Micha (he/they/happie) lie art, spiritualité, nourriture et libération. Alumni du programme Ontario Community Changemaker et membre du Fellowship of the Griots, iel croit que la nourriture saine est un droit — et que la scène est un espace de vérité. 🍃✊🏾
