To celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, step into Interwoven Power: Native Knowledge / Native Art on Sunday October 12th at 2pm.
This special tour goes beyond the wall text, connecting you with the contemporary lives and lived experiences behind the art—including new work by Raven Halfmoon (Caddo Nation/Lenape) and mary and Clementine Bordeaux (Sicangu Oglala Lakota).
A trustee of the Montclair Art Museum and a Museum Studies student at the Institute of American Indian Arts, your guide, Jennifer Ley brings a deep passion and knowledge for contemporary Native art. Her tour feels less like a lecture and more like an invitation into a world of power, vision, and voice—revealing how Native knowledge is carried in objects, shared across generations, and most important, urgently relevant today.
