Philly Music Fest and WXPN have joined forces with Philadelphia Music Alliance to expand Inside Hustle, the bi-annual music industry information and networking events, into a monthly series. The newly extended series will have it's fourth session on September 16, 2026 at the Philadelphia Ethical Society.

Inside Hustle: The Craft & Career of Songwriting
Songwriting is more than writing a great song. It can be a full time career, a business opportunity, and a pathway into some of the most dynamic corners of the music industry.
Join the Philadelphia Music Alliance, Philly Music Fest, and WXPN for the September installment of Inside Hustle, our monthly series connecting emerging and established music professionals with the knowledge, relationships, and resources they need to build sustainable careers in the music industry.
This month, we’re putting songwriters in the spotlight for a conversation about the many career pathways available beyond the traditional artist model. Our panel of experienced songwriters and music industry professionals will explore how writers turn their creativity into opportunity from writing for other artists and publishers to sync licensing, songwriting camps, music supervision, production, commissions, and other professional opportunities.
We’ll talk about the business behind the creative process, including how songwriters find collaborators, pitch their work, build relationships, understand publishing and royalties, protect their work, and develop the professional skills needed to create a sustainable career.
