Inside Hustle: Going Pro:
What does it mean to “Go Pro” in the music industry? Beyond talent and ambition, building a sustainable career requires strategy, relationships, consistency, and a clear understanding of how the industry actually works. The July edition of Inside Hustle brings together experts in artist development and management who have successfully transitioned artists from passion to profession. Light on academics, heavy on practical advice.
About Philly Music Fest
Philly Music Fest is a nonprofit organization that produces an annual week-long local artist music festival in October, paying artists and venues and then donating profits to music education for kids. Philly Music Fest was built to support artists and we realized that one of the best ways to support artists is to support the people that support artists - managers, agents, radio, engineers, media and distribution experts.
About Philadelphia Music Alliance
The Philadelphia Music Alliance works to ensure a continued vibrant music making community through its music education programs for city school students and local college students, as well as supporting partnerships with outstanding music education programs such as the School District of Philadelphia’s MIC’d Up Program, Musicopia, Drexel University Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, Temple University, SCH CAPA, and Philly Music Fest– all designed to not only to encourage our city’s continued stellar contributions to the cultural heritage of the world but to fill a void created by shrinking budgets for cultural programs in our city and in our schools. Best known for the Walk of Fame along Broad Street’s Avenue of the Arts, it remains most impressive public monument to the people who have made Philadelphia a great music city with the new class being inducted May 13, 2026.
