Inside Hustle: Producing & Engineering in the Digital Age
Technology has transformed the way music is created, recorded, distributed, and experienced giving producers and engineers more tools, access, and creative freedom than ever before. But in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by home studios, AI tools, streaming platforms, and social media, what skills and strategies are essential for today’s music creators to stand out?

This edition of the Inside Hustle will explore the modern world of music production and audio engineering through conversations with producers, recording engineers, creators, and technical professionals working across genres and platforms. Panelists will discuss the realities of building a career in today’s digital music ecosystem, including workflow development, collaboration across distances, adapting to emerging technologies, maintaining creative authenticity, and navigating the business side of production.

Attendees will gain insight into the tools shaping the future of music creation, hear firsthand experiences from industry professionals, and learn how technical expertise and creative vision intersect in today’s competitive marketplace.

About Philly Music Fest
Philly Music Fest is a nonprofit organization that produces an annual week-long local artist music festival in October, paying artists and venues and then donating profits to music education for kids. Philly Music Fest was built to support artists and we realized that one of the best ways to support artists is to support the people that support artists - managers, agents, radio, engineers, media and distribution experts.

About Philadelphia Music Alliance
The Philadelphia Music Alliance works to ensure a continued vibrant music making community through its music education programs for city school students and local college students, as well as supporting partnerships with outstanding music education programs such as the School District of Philadelphia’s MIC’d Up Program, Musicopia, Drexel University Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, Temple University, SCH CAPA, and Philly Music Fest– all designed to not only to encourage our city’s continued stellar contributions to the cultural heritage of the world but to fill a void created by shrinking budgets for cultural programs in our city and in our schools. Best known for the Walk of Fame along Broad Street’s Avenue of the Arts, it remains most impressive public monument to the people who have made Philadelphia a great music city with the new class being inducted May 13, 2026.

About WXPN:
WXPN, the nationally recognized leader in Triple A radio and the premier guide for discovering new and significant artists in rock, blues, roots, and folk, is the non-commercial, member-supported, public radio service of the University of Pennsylvania.
