Drummer, composer, and bandleader Eva Klesse is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz. With awards such as the Echo Jazz, the Westfalen Jazz Prize, and most recently a nomination for the German Jazz Prize 2023, she has long since made a name for herself.
For her Inside evening, she brings two incredibly exciting formations to the stage:
First, her Eva Klesse Quartet—an established act for years, internationally acclaimed, with six highly acclaimed albums already under its belt. At Inside, the quartet will present new compositions penned by all band members, fresh, lively, and full of joy. With Evgeny Ring, Philip Frischkorn & Marc Muellbauer.
Then Klesse fulfills a long-cherished dream: the Eva Klesse Quintet. With vibraphonist Jim Hart and long-time companions Daniel Erdmann, Fabian Willmann, and Andreas Lang, she has put together a brand-new ensemble. The music, composed especially for this occasion, promises plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneous energy.
