🚨NOTE: Two of our tours have conflicting times (the Cedar and 4D tour are at the same time). As such you can only sign up for a max of 2 tours. Please see the times of the tours below, and book accordingly!
SFU Innovates and the i2I Research & Innovation Institute invite you to go behind the science as part of Day Three of SFU Innovation Week 2026, hosted by SFU's Core Facilities. This year's Innovation Week brings together researchers, start-ups, industry leaders, VCs, policymakers, and ecosystem builders from October 13 to 15 across SFU's Vancouver and Burnaby campuses, celebrating the growing innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems shaping Canada's future across sectors including Climate Innovation, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical, AgTech, and Civic Innovation.
As part of Day Three, join guided tours of SFU's Core Facilities and research labs, where specialized research infrastructure, expertise, and services support innovation across disciplines. Each tour requires a separate, free ticket.
WearTech Labs | 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
An SFU Core Facility dedicated to the research and development of wearable technologies, from exoskeletons and prosthetics to smart textiles. WearTech Labs combines rapid prototyping with sophisticated human testing to help innovators move wearable devices from concept to market.

Cedar Supercomputing Centre | 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM
Home to Fir, Canada's fastest and most powerful academic supercomputer. The Cedar Supercomputing Centre provides researchers and Canadian companies with world-class computing infrastructure for GPU-intensive model training, simulation, and large-scale AI deployment, all powered by clean energy.

An open-access materials science Core Facility housing a Class 100 clean room, advanced microscopy, and laser labs. 4D LABS supports researchers, start-ups, and industry in fabricating and characterizing new materials and nanoscale devices across sectors including clean energy, quantum technology, and health.
