SD Biotech is pleased to host a special opportunity for local entrepreneurs to receive free intellectual property law consultations with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP, a Chicago-based firm with Midwest roots.

Attorney , originally from Sioux Falls, will be at the Discovery District on February 17 to meet one-on-one with founders and innovators. These 30-minute consultations are designed to help entrepreneurs better understand intellectual property considerations as they grow and protect their ideas.

Appointments will be available from 1:00–5:00 p.m., with brief buffer times between meetings. This is a great chance to gain expert insight from an experienced IP attorney at no cost. Space is limited.

About Yunan Shi
Yunan Shi holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ms. Shi leverages her legal and technical expertise to assist clients in patent prosecution, intellectual property strategy including patent landscape searches and freedom-to-operate analyses, and litigation in the federal courts and PTAB.

During law school, Ms. Shi was a member of both the Patent Clinic and Trademark Clinic at the University of Illinois College of Law where she reviewed invention disclosures, performed patentability searches, drafted a patent application and prepared trademark applications for University of Illinois student inventors and entrepreneurs. She was also an Articles Editor of the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy.
