About this Event
It is time to take some time away from the office/home/kitchen table or wherever you have been working from and take a moment to stand back, reflect and think about the future. Sometimes having a change of scene can make all the difference so why not join us to explore the latest in adventure tourism including materials and infrastructure. You will get the opportunity discuss innovation and new/different ways of doing things all the while being inspired by the places we visit and business leaders we engage with.
Using academic research, the University of Exeter has designed the “Innovation in the wilds” series including this overnight stay. These inspiring, educational sessions are based on business innovation and to explore discussion away from traditional learning environments.
This trip is suitable for any sector business and any level of employee within that business. Participation at The Wave is voluntary. The surf session is aimed at beginners/those with limited surf experience but should be great fun regardless!
Thursday 23rd June @ 0800hrs
For this overnight session we offer two collection points from Cornwall. Here you'll have the opportunity to meet and network with other individuals from local Cornish based businesses and staff members from the University of Exeter on the coach provided.
@ 1230 hrs
Arrival @ The Wave - Leg stretch and lunch (provided). The team will introduce you to the facilities and we'll have a presentation on the story behind the business.
@1430 hrs
Kitted up and opportunity to use the facilities, please bring with you;
* Towel
* Swimwear to wear under a wetsuit
* Refillable water bottle
Please note participating in the water is optional.
@ 1700 hrs
Move to the Mecure North Bristol Grange Hotel on the outskirts of Bristol.
Dinner followed by a workshop where the group can share work based examples/stories in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. You do not need to complete any pre work for this session.
Friday 24th June @ 0800hrs
After a hearty breakfast, we will leave the hotel and move onto the National Composite Centre (TBC) to learn about materials.
@ 1300 bus travel back to Cornwall
The day will finish at approx 1700 hrs.
This event is for any level of staff in a Cornish based business, start up, sole trader, charity or social enterprise.
