Are you looking for a positive change in your career path or job opportunities? Join the Library at the North Idaho College building in Sandpoint to hear impactful speakers share on how to use your strengths to find a new path for a better future. Come explore the interactive workshops and leave with practical steps to improve your resume and job search. Prepared to be pampered, come and get your hair styled, receive a professional headshot for job seeking and do a mock interview. Stay for the whole experience or come for what interests you.
Workshop Details:
10:30-11am & 1-1:30pm: The Job of a Learner: Finding the Intersection of Your Strengths, Interests, and Workplace Values by Marita Diffenbaugh- Come join this interactive 30-minute workshop on how to discover and reflect on your strengths and interests, connect your strengths and see how they align with what you value at work, and contribute to use your insights to make an impact on your future career.
11am- 12pm: Innovative Job Search by Dave Darrow—During this interactive session, learn practical strategies for navigating today’s job market. Receive guidance on identifying in-demand occupations, understanding employer expectations, accessing Idaho Department of Labor, on-line resources and navigating AI.
12-1pm: Mission: Possible: Building a Career with Purpose by Lindsey Morgan Lindsey will share her own unconventional path from criminal justice and victim advocacy into mission-driven nonprofit work and explore the many ways people can build meaningful careers in places they might not think of. Together, we’ll look beyond traditional roles and consider how your skills, experiences, creativity, and passions can open doors to work that makes an impact on people and communities.

Big Interview: When preparing for a job interview, it’s not enough to only read advice – you need to put that advice into practice! It gives hands-on practice with mock interviews tailored to your specific major or area of interest. (Computer based)
Mock Job Interviews: Gain on the spot feedback from a professional.
Career Exploration with Local Companies: Learn what they are looking for when hiring or what skills and training are needed to succeed.
Presenter BIOS:
Marita Diffenbaugh is the Director of Innovation at North Idaho College and author of L.E.A.R.N.E.R.: Finding the True, Good, and Beautiful in Education. Through NIC X-Labs, she helps connect learning to opportunity by bringing students, educators, employers, and community partners together to solve real-world challenges. She is passionate about helping people discover their strengths, interests, and potential for impact.
Dave Darrow has spent nearly three decades of dedicated service with the Idaho Department of Labor (DOL). Throughout this time, he has contributed to DOL’s mission by supporting job seekers, collaborating with employers, and helping Idaho residents navigate the ever-changing workforce landscape. DOL plays a vital role in strengthening Idaho’s workforce and supporting economic growth across the state.
Lindsay Morgan is an Idaho native, artist, mother, and longtime advocate for children, families, and communities. Lindsay works in nonprofit resource development, community engagement, advocacy, storytelling, and project management with organizations including the Community Resource EnVision Center and other mission-driven organizations.
