Inner Light - Day Retreat
About this Event
As someone who practices leadership at work, home, and in life, you're carrying the pressure of holding things together for other people, amidst constant change and the quiet expectation that you'll stay steady so others can lean on you.
On top of that we're living through a season of rapid change, chaos, uncertainty, and disruption unlike anything most of us have navigated before. As a result, you've gotten good at moving fast and holding a lot, and it's easy to lose track of your own signal underneath it all.
More than ever, spending time in community tending to our light is not just a nice-to-have, it's essential... it's part of what will carry you forward. This day-retreat is an invitation to do something different: reconnect with your inner light and build the courage to lead from it.
Being able show up fully in these times is about making space for joy, contentment and rest that sustains you and your work. When you tend to your inner light in these ways, that is what then allows you to show up fully.
This isn't a solitary practice; we were never meant to tend our light alone. Together we'll practice the relational skills –presence, honesty, attunement, mutuality – that let community spark and nourish our inner lights..

During our time together we will cultivate:
- Embodied clarity — a felt sense of your own inner light, and clarity on what you value most right now
- Grounded capacity — a nervous system with room for its full range: steady enough to meet what's hard, with space for joy, contentment, and ease
- Practices to return to — anchors, ready whenever you need them, to integrate this work into your day-to-day life
This isn't about getting calm by tuning out.
It's about staying engaged — with the world, with joy, with what matters to you — without losing yourself in the noise.
Throughout the day, we'll build a small set of practices designed to travel with you, things you can actually use in the middle of your regular life, not just at the retreat. That might look like:
A practice for noticing when you've slipped into override, and a way back
A way to check in with your body in under a minute, before a hard conversation
A simple cue for catching the moment you're about to say yes when you mean no
We know, somewhere in our bones, how to meet moments like this… and we know we're not meant to meet it alone.
Your role – as someone who leads, inspires, and connects others – has never mattered more. What's different now is what this moment asks of us: the embodied capacity to stay connected to our inner light, the resilience that only grows in community, and the joy that sustains us through all of it.
Summer is winding down. This retreat is your first step in cultivating your embodied inner light, and carrying it with you into fall.
Our time together includes:
- Opening circle — arriving fully, in body and in community
- Gentle movement — using mobility balls for myofascial release and somatic yin yoga to tend to our tissues and support nervous system regulation
- Nourishment — gather around the table together to enjoy an organic, gluten-free, and vegetarian lunch prepared by a local personal chef
- Somatic practice — nervous-system practices to help us regulate, relate, and grow together, with room for humor and lightness alongside the deeper work
- Time in nature — the beautiful grounds and views at Casa Sangha in Toro Canyon as co-facilitator
- Integration — personal reflection and small-group sharing to metabolize what's arising
- Closing ritual — a practice to carry your spark forward into daily life
Inner Light is for people who:
- Know that how you lead yourself shapes how you lead, and impact, everyone around you
- Are ready to tend your inner light with the same care you give everything and everyone else
- Feel the weight of this moment — personally, collectively — and are looking for a way through that doesn't require shutting down
- Practice leadership... at work, at home, or simply in how you move through life
- Long to gather in small, intimate containers with like-minded community
- Are ready to do deep work while staying connected to joy and humor
- Are craving embodied practice, not just more information, insights or advice
