In this special event, Harjo invites us to reflect on our own connections to the land and the ancestors who walked it before us. Her work offers a profound reflection on the strength found in storytelling and the resilience required to sustain a culture. She will be joined by Karen Lincoln Michel, a cultural consultant and story producer for PBS Wisconsin, who will serve as a moderator.
This event is ticketed and open to the public with an option to watch online. Reserve your spot for this engaging experience and consider how we inhabit our shared home.
After the event, in-person attendees are invited to get their favorite Joy Harjo book signed by the author. A Room of One’s Own Bookstore will be onsite selling a selection of her titles before and after the event.
This event is part of our Finding Home Series, exploring identity, belonging, and place. You can view all upcoming Finding Home events here: https://www.wisconsinacademy.org/events
