After releasing her latest album on the ABC Jazz label, followed by a launch in London last month, Ingrid James, an award-winning Queensland jazz vocalist, educator, recording artist and lyricist, will join forces with a stellar line-up from Queensland – Brendan St Ledger (piano); Samuel Vincent (bass); Lachlan Hawkins (drums) and special guest, the dynamic Shelley Bishop (sax), who has recently returned from Chicago.
They will be delving into some of the "Cool Jazz Standards" repertoire from the 1940s to the 1950s, as well as weaving back and forth from the 1930s to the 1980s for some classic re-invented jazz and pop favourites. As always, you will hear the band swinging hard; fusing Brazilian samba and jazz with other infectious rhythms from around the world.
