Inglorious, a band with a mutual love and respect of the classics of Hard Rock music, big guitar riffs, and soulful vocals.
Inglorious are back with Nathan James and Original Bassist Colin Parkinson for their 5th original Studio album “V”.
Nathan James, who founded the band in 2014 has been singing professionally for 20 years. He has performed/recorded with artists such as Ginger Baker, Uli Jon Roth and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, he has more recently appeared in Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War of the Worlds, Steve Steinman’s Vampires Rock Symphonic, 80’s Classical and Zeppelin Symphonic. Nathan also fronts Supergroup Iconic, under the Frontiers roster featuring Michael Sweet, Joel Hoekstra, Marco Mendoza and Tommy Aldridge.
In 2022 after a lengthy UK tour Inglorious announced a hiatus. After seven years of non-stop touring with bands such as The Winery Dogs, Steel Panther, The Dead Daisies, Last in Line, as well as their own international tours and festival appearances, recording four original albums, a live album and a covers album. Everyone felt it was definitely the right time to take a break.
Nathan is now back, stronger mentally, physically and vocally and once again looking forward to unleashing his powerful voice on a new Inglorious album.
Nathan knew the music had to be the best the band had ever released and, with that in mind, he joined forces once again with original Inglorious bass player and main co-writer Colin Parkinson who co - wrote and released the first three albums with the band. “Inglorious”, “II” and “Ride to Nowhere”.
After a few messages back and forth Nathan and Colin met for a beer in a pub in Somerset. At the end of the fourth pint, they were in agreement that it was time to make a new Inglorious record together, like they had done three times before.
They set about writing the album together, with Colin looking after production for this record.
Colin had an idea that the line up should be different to come back with, and always thought a four piece would be more fitting for the band.
After speaking to some of the members to see about their interest and availability to make a new record it became apparent that they understandably had other projects and commitments and would’ve been unable to give the time required for a new album and touring cycle, others felt like their time with the band had come to an end. With complete understanding Nathan and Colin wish all the members the best of luck with their projects and encourage everyone to check them out.
Nathan and Colin wrote the main bulk of the album in just a few sessions as Colin had a bank of great material and riffs to choose from. Some of which had been around from the early days of Inglorious, which weren’t perhaps the sound of Inglorious then, but as the guys themselves have matured, so has their sound and this album is powerful both musically and lyrically. They had a lot to write about and say.
Whilst this writing was happening Nathan also set about recruiting two world class musicians that could help bring this album to life.
Joining them on guitar, is the immensely talented Richard Shaw, who many people will know from his time as the guitarist of English Extreme metal band Cradle of Filth.
Richard has also played with NG26, Emperor Chung and Plague of Angels.
Richard brings unbelievable musicality, Professionalism, masterful shredding and a refreshing approach to the guitars on this album.
His playing speaks for itself and is sure to excite Inglorious fans new and old.
Joining them on drums is a longtime friend of Nathan’s the fantastic Henry Rogers, who has played with bands such as Touchstone, Mostly Autumn, Mia Klose and Mark Kelly’s Marathon.
Henry has been featured in Classic Rock Prog Magazine, winning Drummer of the Year on several occasions, Rhythm Magazine in the top drummers of the year, and also again in Rhythm, being voted as one of the topmost influential progressive drummers of the millennium in June 2015.
The album Produced by Colin was mixed by Tony Draper who has engineered both Inglorious II and Ride to Nowhere. A great engineer and it was so good to have someone who knows the Inglorious sound and how Nathan and Colin work.
Inglorious “V" will be released by Frontier Music SRL, and we hope everyone enjoys this new exciting record. See you on Tour. Inglorious.
