About When Fear and Bravery Collide
What happens when fear and bravery collide? What becomes possible when women come together to create something extraordinary?
When Fear and Bravery Collide is a FREE, nine-month, trauma-informed creative theatre experience for adult women who have experienced interpersonal abuse and are interested in rebuilding, reconnecting, and discovering new possibilities for themselves.
Interpersonal abuse can take many forms, including emotional, psychological, verbal, physical, sexual, and coercive abuse within relationships.
Presented by The Brave Women's Community Center in partnership with the Rose Andom Center, with grant support from Unlikely Collaborators, this project brings women together to explore bravery, creativity, storytelling, and connection.
Through therapeutic drama, improvisation, movement, storytelling, and playful creative exercises, participants will explore new possibilities for self-expression, build meaningful relationships, and discover what happens when they step outside their comfort zones in a supportive environment.
The experience begins with building trust, connection, and a sense of ensemble. As the group develops, participants move into deeper creative exploration, collaboratively developing characters, scenes, and stories that will eventually become an original theatrical production.
No theatre experience is necessary!
This is not about being a professional performer or having to share painful personal experiences. It's about discovering the power of creativity, play, and community.
Our work is grounded in five core values: Bravery, Community, Creativity, Play, and Collaboration.
