Expand your mind and horizons on May 02 with Universal Consciousness, a celebration of your favourite Spiritual Jazz, Free Jazz, and Fusion of the late 1960s and 1970s! This one-night-only event at the Rickshaw will include over 30 musicians, featuring four mind-bending bands:
Star System, a 13 person band playing the music of Sun Ra & His Arkestra
Electric Miles, including 6 of Vancouver's best Jazz musicians playing the 1970's music of Miles Davis.
The Ha Siblings, playing the music of Alice Coltrane
MAFUBA, all the way from Montreal, playing the music of Pharoah Sanders
Getting to hear the music of any of these legends live is a rare treat, and hearing all four in one night is unheard of. Join us as we celebrate the best of one of the greatest eras of Jazz.
