Tamas Balai is a recent alumnus of Capilano University, where he studied jazz performance and composition. It was at Capilano University where he met the other members of his quartet, Wes Anderson, Dan Howard and Benjamin Sigerson. In Celebration of Sonny Rollins’ 95th birthday, they will be playing songs from his 1956 album, “Sonny Rollins with the Modern Jazz Quartet.

This performance is part of Vancouver Celebrates Sonny Rollins, a week-long multi venue tribute to the life and music of the legendary Sonny Rollins.
Frankie's After Dark takes place every Friday & Saturday night at Frankie's Jazz Club (755 Beatty) at 11PM. Tickets are $10 and are added to your bill at the end of the night. This series is curated & presented by Infidels Jazz.
