Industrial Pretreatment “A” Course

The Florida Industrial Pretreatment Association (FIPA) conducts training courses and exams for voluntary certifications in Industrial Pretreatment.  Courses are open to industrial pretreatment professionals, laboratory personnel, and water/wastewater operators.  By completing a 2-day course, an individual may earn 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) issued through accredited organizations.  

Required minimum qualifications for Industrial Pretreatment "A" Level (Advanced) Exam & Voluntary Certification Issuance:

2. Must have a "B" level certification through FIPA or FWPCOA
   
3. Must have accumulated 3 years of experience performing daily duties in industrial pretreatment
   
4. Recommend having one (1) year of IP experience at the supervisory level
   
5. Must successfully complete the Industrial Pretreatment "A" course through FIPA or FWPCOA
   
6. Must achieve a grade of 70% or greater on the "A" course certification exam
