Come celebrate 30 years since Elaine Dobson oversaw the commissioning of a gong kebyar gamelan set from Bali and its arrival at the University of Canterbury on Christmas Day, 1995!
This free event is at the Aldersgate Centre, 309 Durham Street North, Christchurch. No ticket is required!
Featuring the UC Gamelan Ensemble and special guests from Dunedin and Wellington:
Puspawarna Gamelan (Javanese)
Gamelan Padhang Moncar (Javanese)
Gamelan Taniwha Jaya (Balinese)
Wayang Kulit (Dr. Joko Susilo - Shadow Puppeteer)
