Indigo Magic with Naomi Yamamoto at Flightpath Designs Studio
Experience the enchantment of indigo resist dyeing methods in this captivating workshop! Gain a fundamental understanding of the process while creating stunning hand-dyed pieces.
We'll provide some fabric for your creations, but feel free to bring along your own pre-washed cotton, silk, or linen materials to dye. Just remember to avoid large items to ensure everyone has enough dye to work their magic.
Join us as we explore the world of indigo dyeing and unleash your creativity on fabric!
TIMES: 10am, 1pm, and 3:30pm
LENGTH: 2 hours
LOCATION: Flightpath Designs Studio at 1000 Parker St. Studios. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in. There will be somone to help you check-in outside of 1000 Parker.
AGES: Youth & Adults (ages 12 and up), Suitable for beginners and up
COST: $35 per person per workshop
WHAT TO BRING: Attendees may bring pre-washed cotton, silk or linen materials to dye but please no large items. Some materials will be provided.
ACCESSIBILITY: This studio is not wheelchair accessible. The studio can get hot in afternoon during summer. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, some may have chairs or stools at short height, counter, or bar height seating. Weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.
Naomi Yamamoto graduated with distinction from the Fibre Program at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2006. She created Flightpath Designs in 2007 to bring together the three muses that move her the most: travel, design and textiles. Her current work is inspired from a childhood which provided a rich source of exposure to different craft processes stemming from her Japanese ancestry.
~~~ In addition to participating in this workshop, your ticket grants you access to our General Admission Create! Art Zone at Strathcona Park on July 27th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Art Zone features multiple drop-in public art activities, access to the Festival Art Shop, a beer garden, food trucks, and live music presented in partnership with Light Organ Records & 604 Records. To enter the Art Zone, simply show your workshop ticket.~~~~

If you would like to cancel your attendance, we will offer you a refund, provided that you inform us at least 4 days prior to the scheduled event.
