Slow down & Make Something Meaningful w/ your hands.

Join us for a relaxed Sunday retreat-style workshop with brunch, slow stitching & indigo dye with Najma Ma’at Wilson.

Najma Ma’at Wilson is a Detroit-based fiber artist and designer with nearly 40 years experience.She co-owned Detroit Fireworks earned a BFA from the Center for Creative Studies, and a master’s from Cambridge College.She founded Hand and Spirit, rooted in African textile traditions.Wilson taught for 17 years in Detroit Public Schools and at Wayne State University.Her work blends African ancestry, culture, and storytelling through fiber art.

Light brunch buffet.

Participants take home their creations.

This workshop is offered on a sliding scale of $75–150. Please choose the price that best fits your current financial situation. Every ticket includes the same workshop experience. Higher-priced tickets help make community programming and scholarships possible. 100% of the proceeds go to support youth education initiatives through Slow Stitch’s location in Detroit, as well as getting the “Bringing Home Economics Back” curriculum into public schools.
