Dear friends.You are invited to join us for an Amazonian "mini festival" with 2 days of wisdom sharings in the spirit of the Indigenous Tukano People of Brazil and Columbia.
We are delighted to be able to host Chief Álvaro Tukano - also known as Doéthiro - an elder, medicine holder, and leader of
the Tukano people from the Amazon.
He is considered one of the godfathers of the Indigenous rights movement in Brazil and Latin America. Author of several books and with three documentaries made about his life, he has trained and advised several generations of Indigenous leaders from all over the world, as well helped to shape better views and laws on indigenous rights both in Brazil as well as in the UN.
His teachings address urgent questions:
• How can we engage with Indigenous traditions without tokenizing them or relating in illusory ways?
• What responsibilities come with working with the medicines?
• What are the biggest risks for western people interacting with Indigenous medicines and traditions?
