At about 11:25, we will read our Land Acknowledgement Statement.
At 11:30, Joseph Standing Bear will perform a bison blessing ceremony. There is no charge for these outdoor presentations of the day.
The museum is open from 12-4, and throughout the afternoon there will be Native American information stations, at some of which you can try out Native American replica tools; and, archaeologist Ken Geier will demonstrate the amazing Native American art of flintknapping -- how projectile points and arrowheads were made.
From 1:00-2:00 p.m., Abaigael Collins will perform Jingle Dress and Shawl dances.
Standard admission applies for indoor museum presentations ($3 adults, $2 kids 3-12 and Seniors 60+, and free for under 3, Museum members, and Elgin Township Senior Access Passes.
