The Eiteljorg invites you to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day with a day full of Native history, art and cultures. Performances by Native Pride Productions include different types of powwow dances, storytelling and live music.
Admission is FREE all day!
Native Pride Productions, an award-winning dance collective led by founder and artistic director Larry Yazzie (Meskwaki) will showcase several types of powwow dances and storytelling sessions throughout the day, including Fancy Dance, Grass Dance, Jingle Dress dances, and more. Larry Yazzie’s declaration that “we are all united; one earth, same ground” is the foundation of this year’s celebration.
Tours of the galleries led by curators Dorene Red Cloud (Oglala Lakota) and Monica Raphael (Anishinaabe/Sicangu Lakota) provide a chance to learn more about the Native art in our collection, while hands-on activities offer the opportunity to commemorate the day with your own artwork.
