The program will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening by the Blue House Singers and Drum Circle. At 10:10 a.m., attendees will be welcomed by Tim Hood, President of Mid Michigan College; Neil MacKinnon, President of Central Michigan University or a designee; and representatives of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Tribal Council.
At 10:30 a.m., keynote speaker Sam Anglin, Indigenous Chef and Traditional Food Educator at Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, will share insights about Indigenous foodways and traditions. Following the keynote, an Indigenous food demonstration will take place at 11 a.m. The event will close at noon with a performance by the Blue House Singers and Drum Circle.
