Join Meghan Young from the University of Manitoba Community Engaged Learning department for a 1.5 hour walk and talk focusing on Indigenous land and Place-making on campus. This walk will incorporate three U of M projects including Cyclical Motion: Indigenous Art and Placemaking, Raven Medicine Cloud, and The Cultural Landscape of the Fort Garry Campus: Landform, Use, and Occupancy Prior to 1900.
The area the campus uses has a rich history and evidence of First Nation and Métis relationships with the Land. Exploring this encourages participants to consider the history of the U of M campus, while also giving them the opportunity to experience Indigenous projects on campus.
