                  In conjunction with the exhibition Frank S. Matsura: Portraits From the Borderland, this two-part conversation will focus on identity and representation of Indigenous and Japanese American cultures in the media.We’ll start with a panel discussion with curator Michael Holloman, Dr. Satsuki Ina, and Hanako Wakatsuki-Chong, moderated by Dr. Melanie Fillmore. Following will be a short break and then a guided reflection process led by Dr. Ina.
Melanie Fillmore is urban mixed Hunkpapa, Lakota of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe of North and South Dakota and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma.
Michael Holloman is a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and is an Associate Professor at Washington State University.
Dr. Satsuki Ina is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in community trauma, author, and co-founder of Tsuru for Solidarity.
Hanako Wakatsuki-Chong is the Executive Director of the Japanese American Museum of Oregon
