Hello good people! 👋🏽✨ We are excited to present our next reading—Ancestors: Future! (Nov. 24th; 6:30 pm, So & So Books in Raleigh)radical origins, infinite suns
Indigena Collective, a local poetry reading series, centers marginalized identities in the community, including but not limited to BIPOC, QTPOC, and disabled creatives. For our next event in November, we are excited to focus on the theme of “Ancestors: Future.” The reading will take place on Nov. 24th, 6:30 pm, at So & So Books.
The theme “Ancestors: Future” is an exploration of how roots & origins—our distant and near pasts, whether genealogical or otherwise—have shaped not only our sense of self but also the world in which we live. More importantly, how do we in turn, as future ancestors, shape generations to come? How do we foster community in a world that prizes individualism over family, blood or chosen? And, in the same way light travels from the past to reach the present, how can we extend our love to communities in a future time and space?
Later on, Indigena will also do an open call for the open mic that directly follows the main event. Please keep an eye out for this if interested!
