Indie Chinese Cinema Week 2025 : Cinema As Language , Action and Future

Founded in 2022, Indie Chinese Cinema Week (ICCW) is a Berlin-based festival showcasing bold, original, and emotionally resonant works from the Chinese-speaking world.

As a curatorial platform exploring the complex realities of contemporary China and the wider Sinophone sphere, ICCW fosters transcultural dialogue through grounded and diverse perspectives.

The 4th ICCW is supported by the Berlin Senate for Culture and Social Cohesion.

This year’s edition reimagines cinema not merely as a form of storytelling, but as a living language — a way of seeing, acting, and shaping the future.

Through a powerful lineup of six feature films and fifteen shorts — most of them German or Berlin premieres — ICCW 2025 invites audiences to journey across languages, geographies, and identities, exploring stories that delve into migration, labor, gender, queer experience, urban transformation, and the ever-evolving sense of belonging.

On November 5, ICCW presents its Opening Party in collaboration with Berlin-based collective Jiā La — a night of Guqin performance, live acts, and DJ sets that brings together Berlin’s creative communities across film, music, art, and more!
