Red Light Spies
Formed in a dimly lit garage tucked away in Southampton we quickly bonded over a shared love for dynamic riffs introspective lyrics and heart-pounding beats. Our sound is a blend of raw gritty energy fused with hypnotic indie grooves. Drawing inspiration from the Arctic Monkeys' sharp energy the intensity of Queens of the Stone Age and the psychedelic rhythms of The Stone Roses we strive to create a sound that's both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. With every track we aim to carve out something uniquely ours—while still tapping into the timeless elements of rock that we’ve always loved.
Nic Forsyth
Nic Forsyth is a singer/songwriter from Southampton who has previously been involved in several local original and covers bands as a guitarist and harmony vocalist. Last year he started writing new material hit a prolific writing streak and formed a new band Waldo Salt. Whilst rehearsing with the new band the writing streak continued and new songs kept on coming. So keen to get these new songs heard he embarked for the first time as a solo acoustic artist.
Influenced by post punk indie pop and a love of concise melodic tunes expect songs of infectious joy and misery.
Charlie Smith
My name might be common but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith a raw honest singer-songwriter from Hampshire UK. I host and perform at my own shows at venues such as the Railway Inn The Attic and Crosfield Hall. In October 2023 I embarked on my first solo tour of northern England performing in Leicester Leeds Liverpool and Stockton. My most recent 'DIY Tour 24' was built around showcasing local musicians and took me along the south of England (Brighton Portsmouth London and Southampton). The 3-track single 'God Doesn't Hate You' Recorded on a Zoom R8 is my first release of 2025 marking an adventure back into lo-fi recording. Using nothing but a portable recorder its microphones & effects proved a welcome challenge. What the three tracks lack in polish they make up for with creativity. It proves that even with limited studio equipment you can make music.
The Guillotine Union Boys
The wokeabilly band that neoliberal authoritarians love to hate. Join the Reverend Sam and Bo Gallows' picket line as they bring their brand of hometruth agit-folk to the masses. With lightning-quick finger picking stomping rhythms and rallying rebel yells this act is for the many not the few
Simon Maggs & People like us
Simon Maggs (guitar & vocals) Gary Winstanley (guitar) and Chris Bluemel (violin) are three-fifths of indie folk band People Like Us.
Literate indie-folkie songs blend catchy melodies with wry lyrical storytelling rich with relatable real-life themes and occasional kitchen-sink narratives.
Their sound draws inspiration from the likes of Billy Bragg Paul Heaton The Smiths and Frank Turner — mixing folk charm with a touch of protest and plenty of heart. Recent releases like Baby Boomers Cartoon Fantasy and One For The Teenagers showcase their upbeat melodic side while tracks like Two Legs Better reveals a darker more reflective edge and Last Man Standing brings out a rockabilly side.
