Badi Assad, the celebrated Brazilian artist known for her prowess as a singer-songwriter, guitarist, vocal juggler, and actress, has firmly established herself as one of the most versatile figures of her generation. With 20 albums released globally, she marks a significant milestone in her 35-year career in 2024. Among her many accolades, her 2006 album "Wonderland" was recognized among BBC London's top 100.
Signed by labels such as Universal, Assad has graced prestigious stages worldwide, collaborating with luminaries like Bobby McFerrin, Larry Coryell, Roy Rogers, and Yo-Yo Ma. Her diverse talents have been showcased at renowned festivals such as Umbria Jazz and venues like The Met (NY).
Assad's contributions to Brazilian music include the creation of the "Festival Assad" in 2011, and her own label releases earned her the Best Composer of the Year award and recognition at the USA International Songwriting Competition.
At the dawn of 2023 Badi unveiled “Focal, What?” at New York's Lincoln Center, a remarkable testament to her ongoing artistic evolution and her unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity.
Documented in the acclaimed film "BADI," Assad's career continues to evolve. In July 2022, she released her 20th original album "Ilha," followed by a Brazilian tour. The album captured vibrant energy and ethnic rhythms, produced by Grammy winner Márcio Arantes (Anita).

Michele Castro
Michele Castro is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist currently residing in Denver, Colorado. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, she began playing guitar and writing songs at a young age, influenced by the rich musical traditions of Brazil as well as rock and folk artists from around the world.
After honing her skills performing at venues across Rio, Castro relocated to the United States in the early 2010s, settling in Denver. She quickly became an integral part of the city's vibrant Brazilian musical community, performing her original Portuguese songs that blend Brazilian rhythms like bossa nova and samba with acoustic folk and rock elements.
Castro has released two acclaimed solo albums - "Raízes" in 2015 and "Encontros" in 2019 - in addition to collaborating with other Denver-based Brazilian and American musicians. Her poetic lyrics and warm, engaging performances have earned her a dedicated following in Colorado and beyond. Michele continues to tour regionally while based in Denver, keeping one foot in her Brazilian musical roots and the other immersed in her adopted home's diverse artistic scene.
