IndependentSounds presents Offenbach: The Tales of Hoffmann
About this Event
In The Tales of Hoffmann, we follow a poet unraveling his own past, exploring three lost loves and the fragile line between inspiration and obsession. Performed in French with subtitles, our 1-hour production of “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” showcases a series of romantic encounters, both whimsical and haunting, that ultimately guide the poet to a more enduring source of love and inspiration.
About IndependentSounds: We reimagine opera and classical music for today’s audience—intimate, immediate, and alive. We distill grand operas into “bite-sized” shows that pack all the punch of a full opera into the span of one hour. Our operas and song concerts showcase both established and emerging singers, are fully staged, and are always accompanied by a dazzling live orchestra. We prioritize storytelling that invites curiosity rather than requiring expertise. This is opera without barriers. It’s up close, emotionally direct, and deeply human — because opera is for everyone!
