First Ever Pinball Tournament at PGH Taco Boys!

Format: Limited HERB
Rules Overview
Players will compete on a bank of 6 games where your best 3 games will make up your composite score.
Players will receive 10 tickets. 1 ticket will be redeemed for 1 play on 1 tournament machine. (Tickets are non-transferrable.) After completion of a game, the players scores will be submitted into the tournament software and their score will be ranked against all other players scores for that machine. Each score will be assigned a value, see matchplay link score breakdowns. You must play a minimum of 3 unique machines. Beyond that you may play any of the tournament machines until you have exhausted your tickets.
Top 8 in A advance to finals. (Top 4 B eligible).
Qualifying Hours
Friday: 12:00pm to 8:00pm
Saturday: 11:00a to 5:00pm
Finals start at 5:00pm (no new games after 4:50pm)
Pre-Registration $30
Maximum number of preregistration slots: no max
Pre-registration opens 5/29/26@ 9pm.

Pre-registration+ signups will be taken via google forms. Once 15 forms are collected and payments are received, the form will be shut off.

*Jump the queue; players who pre-register for the event will have the ability to jump to the top of the queue of a game. A queue jumping player may not jump to the top past another pre-registered player already in the queue. If a pre-reg player is already at the top of the queue and another pre-reg player would like to jump that queue, they will be placed next after all pre-registered players.
Finals
Finals start at 5:00pm on Saturday. If you are not present AT 5:00pm, you will be eliminated from finals. No exceptions,
Finals will take the top 8 of all players. Format will be head to head, best of 5. No game selection restrictions.
Round 1 will be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5
Round 2 will be the 4 advancing players from Round 1
Round 3 will be the Top 4
and Finals will be the Top 2
B Division will be the top 4 eligible players. Head to head, best of 5.
Game selection for finals for the first game will be selected as follows;
Top seed will choose the first game from the bank of games, then the 2nd seed will have choice of the remaining games, then 3rd, then 4th. No waiting for games for the first game.
For all remaining games, a game may not have more than one group queued for it. If another group is on deck for a game, you must select another game.
Winner from each game will receive a win for each game. First to 3 wins the round.
Top seed picks the first game and order selection.
The losing player from the previous game will select the next game and the winner player will have first choice of first or second.
Payouts will be determined after qualifying has ended..
Rulings and Malfunctions
Tournament will follow the PAPA/IFPA rules for all rulings and malfunctions.

The Inaugural Taco Boys Limited HERB pinball tournament is a 2026 Pinburgh Matchplay Pinball Tournament office satellite tournament.
All registered players will receive an entry into a raffle where the winner will receive a Ticket for the 2026 Pinburgh Matchplay Pinball Tournament July 22-26, 2026 at the Rezzanine e-sports in Bridgeville, PA.

Players may earn additional entries as follows:
1 entry given to each player for registering for the event.
1 additional entry for pre-registering for the event.
2 additional entries for purchasing pre-registration+ (limited to 15).
1 additional entry for qualifying in the top 8.

1 additional entry for having the top score on a machine at the end of qualifying.
1 additional entry for the overall top qualifier.
1 additional entry for 2 hours of scheduled volunteer scorekeeping (maximum 6 hours).

The Steel City Pinball League annually raffles off a pinball machine!
All players participating in all Steel City Pinball events earn entries toward the raffle.
This year we’re raffling off a Williams Triple Strike!

PGH Taco boys is a small taco shop located in Oakmont PA.

The location will only have 8 games on site for the event and will all be tournament play only.
The pinball room is not very big but we will have a canopy outside and hope it will be a nice day out.
Come hang out with us and eat some tacos! Play some pinball! You might even win a Pinburgh ticket!
Taco boys is open for business from 11:30a to 7:30p all 3 days but the pinball event will run past their closing time on Friday and Saturday.
No outside food or beverages allowed, water bottles ok. Support the location, buy a taco or 2, or 3!
