Inaugural OARSathalon

Get ready for a day of fun and adventure at our first-ever OARSathalon event! Join us at the beautiful Lake Bastrop South Shore Park for a thrilling competition that combines running, Biking, Swimming, along with frisbee golf and beer drinking, all in one exciting race day. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner looking for a new challenge, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to test your skills and enjoy a day out on the lake with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. See you there!

Info: Swimming across the warm waters of Lake Bastrop. Course is TBD but will be between 850-1100 ISB (International Survey Bananas).

Info: 22,500 ISBs down the road to Highway 21 and back to the park will be fast and furious on two wheels. Bring your own bike or use the Trek community bike. There will be multiple heats so the loaner bike can be used multiple times. Score will be best time across all heats or if attendance is high enough there may be a championship heat. TBD

Info: A road run around the park loops, and easy 11,250 Bananas all within the park. Bring your running shoes.

Info: Who can throw the longest drive? Best distance along a line made directly out from the tee box marked with a basket. You can bring your own discs or use the assortment of public discs.

Info: Who can throw the office chair the farthest? Conjure up your best office rage and throw that muther as far as you can chuck it. We won't record what you say as you throw it. Best of two throws per person.

Info: Arguably the most competitive and controversial of the OARSathalon events. The rules will be that one must consume a beer (or AF hop water) in its entirety for time starting from the moment the tab is pulled on the aluminum can until there is no longer a steady stream of liquid or foam coming from the uptilted can. if more than half a shot glass can be recovered from the contestants can, they are disqualified.

Info: Each player starts with three discs. Begin 12 bananas away from the basket and throw, stepping back 6 bananas after each throw, increase the distance. If you miss a throw the disc is removed from the game and you must throw again to attempt to move backwards. When a player has no discs, they must exit the game. The last person standing at the end of the last round wins. If there is not a clear winner, there could be a throw-off to determine the winner.

Info: Undoubtedly the smack talk will have reached its height at this point and people will be making up new ways to measure themselves. We can have a putt putt tournament, race kayaks, do a long jump competition in the volleyball court whatever you want to do, the rest of us are going to prepare lunch while the scores are tallied.

Info: A fun-spiritized announcement of the winners of the day's events. Overall winners will be announced and the event will wrap up.
