Meshtastic is a project that enables you to use inexpensive LoRa radios as a long range off-grid communication platform in areas without existing or reliable communications infrastructure. While there are a few nodes already in Tallahassee, a robust network of these devices would provide an additional communication platform in the event of a disaster. Plus this looks like a fun way to learn about electronics, radio, and networking. This first meeting is to see what kind of knowledge resources we already have and see if there is enough interest to work on this project.
