About this Event
The French mathematician (and philosopher) Blaise Pascal famously wrote “I have only made this letter longer because I have not had the time to make it shorter”. I took the time required to make my bio short:
I was born and raised in Athens, where I graduated from Athens College. I received my BSc (Honors) from the University of Western Ontario and my MSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester. In 2000, I was appointed Governor’s Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London where in 2010 I was promoted to Professor of BioSystems Engineering. In 2018, I was appointed Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the W.H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Tech and Emory University. In 2022, I was appointed as the Don Panoz Chair of Pharmaceutical Biology at the School of Ph*rm*cy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Trinity College Dublin and Principal Investigator at the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training.
My research expertise is in bioprocess engineering of microbial, mammalian, stem cell, and cell therapeutic culture systems.
