Our barista Ezra is not only passionate about coffee but incredibly passionate about books too! Join him while he guides us into our first book club meet up! Here are his words on this first meeting...Hello! My name is Ezra and I joined Anvil Coffee House this past summer. It has always been a dream of mine to start a bookclub in a café, and I am delighted to announce the beginning of The Anvil Coffee House Book Club! Some of the best things that I have come across - with books being no exception - have been suggestions from both friends and strangers. Accordingly, The Anvil Coffee House Book Club will be a book club in which anybody who participates can choose an upcoming title.It can be a personal favorite that you think has the ability to enrich the lives of others, or maybe there's a title that you've been wanting to read and want to bring friends along for the ride. It can be fiction or nonfiction. Whatever it is, we thank you for making the suggestion, and we want to read it, and then talk about it! So, please come with your ideas and join in on the conversation.

Why I Picked this book: I picked this book because if I ever started a book club, it was always going to start with Ove. I read this book years ago and I can still remember how good it made me feel. I can't wait to read it again and this time with others to share it with. The book touches on really important themes such as friendship, depression, love, and what it means to really know someone else.
Other Notes:
A movie based on the book, starring Tom Hanks, will be released in theatres at the end of 2022!
This was Fredrick Backman's first book, and in addition to being a Heather's Pick at Indigo and Chapters, it stayed on the NY Times Best Seller list for 42 weeks!
